Boston, MA – WestView Capital Partners (“WestView”), a leading Boston-based growth equity firm, was named in Inc.’s second annual Private Equity 50 list, which honors the most founder-friendly PE firms in the country. For the Private Equity 50 List, Inc. gathered data directly from entrepreneurs who have sold businesses, while retaining an equity stake, to private equity firms to gauge their opinions on the most founder-friendly firms. Respondents filled out a questionnaire about their experiences partnering with private equity firms and offered insight into how their businesses have performed through these partnerships. Feedback like this quote, from Steve Stevens, Founder and CEO of Jopari, a WestView portfolio company, helped Inc. determine that WestView was worthy of a spot on this year’s list: “After going through hundreds of private equity firms in my long career, I have never felt as comfortable as I have with WestView as my partners.”

The list, along with several targeted articles and quotes from founders (including the above from Steve Stevens on p. 71), is also available in the October/November 2020 issue of Inc. magazine. Said Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. media, “I get the chance to interact with many entrepreneurs who have relentless drive and want to build a business that fixes problems, improves a process, or makes the world a better place. But to do that, it often takes the backing from a private equity firm that will provide more than just financial backing. It takes wholeheartedly supporting that vision and treating the founders like partners.”
“We are thrilled to be included on Inc.’s 2020 list of the Top 50 Founder-Friendly Private Equity Firms,” said Rick Williams, Managing Partner at WestView. He added “partnering with founders and supporting management teams are the primary reasons we started WestView in 2004.” Carlo von Schroeter, also a Managing Partner, added “we’re most proud that the list was compiled based on direct input from founders we’ve partnered with over the last 15 years. We pride ourselves on building longstanding relationships with these founders, and our inclusion on this list is a testament to that.”
